My good pals Dan and Lorraine who run The Haven Bar across the street from me have decided to put the business on the market. Dan tells me that they are going to continue on their way to Oz which is where they were heading in the first place more than a year ago!! They have not gone just yet though and will be around for Paddy's Day - having a jar or two like the rest of us!
Billabong Hotel is the new name for what used to be called Storm's Hotel. There are no prizes for guessing where the new owner hails from. Around the corner from Metro Apartments there is a new bar called Bulldogs - and I'm at a total loss as to what was there before. It may have been The Silver Dollar and something else. Anyway, it's near Champagne Agogo.
Also on that side of the street where there used to be a hairdressing salon there is another new bar but I can not report on the name yet.
As of a couple of days ago the burger bar at the top of the street was not open, whether for a few days or longer is unclear.
Next door to Metro Apartments there has been an Italian eatery for about the last year and a half but with several different owners. Well, as of this evening it's been closed for about a week and no one knows if or when it's going to re-open.
