A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that tourist numbers were down. This claim was not based on serious research - rather it was from good old firsthand observation. Well, now The Pattaya Mail has carried an article about reductions of 30%. See the article here:

Unfortunately, with increasing inflation, increasing mortgage payments, increasing food and fuel bills as well as air ticket fuel surcharges and decreasing purchasing power the various roadshows of the TAT will not lead to a sudden recover in the number of tourists arriving in the city. Belt tightening is now as essential as being able to hold your breath under water!
