In a post back in May I mentioned that we had, in conjunction with several other bars, run some fun events over St. Patrick's Weekend to raise money for a local orphanage here - The Mercy Centre. A few days ago one of the Centre staff called by with a nice framed Certificate of Appreciation. Having had my memory thus awakened I have just spent some time on their website - recalling the unfortunate death of one of the little girls in their care - Namphon. It is one of those stories which reminds you how much worse off you could be.
