Work continues on the property next to Metro Apartments but as yet I have no information when it might open. Across the street from us there is work being done upstairs. At some point in the next few weeks I believe work will start on the street level where a GoGo is going to appear.
I have heard that Bolaget is also going to be sold. Apparently the bar and restaurant next door have been knocked into one and it will be leased as one unit. There is nothing above being leased as someone already has those rooms.
The street owner is trying to arrange some order and I believe some of the 'infringements' on the thoroughfare will be removed.
At Metro we have had a few late cancellations which means we have some capacity for the first two weeks in December. Beyond that we are more or less fully booked through until mid January.
Some of the usual guests for this time of the year are back in town and it is nice to see familiar faces again.
We had a very enjoyable Rugby World Cup during which we sold all beer @ 60 Baht up to 6pm on rugby days. Although beer is a little difficult to get especially Singha and Leo there does seem to be plenty of San Miguel Light and Heineken around. Singha should be easier to obtain in about a month.
Beyond that, last week when I was in Bangkok there were noticeably fewer people around as a result of the negative impact of the flooding in the northern part of the city. There was, however, no water around the main tourist areas.
More news as and when we have it.
