Below one of the many scam emails we get seeking a room. Posted as received minus the name!

Greetings to you, Hope this email finds you well.

I have 4 guest i will like to book their accommodation with you

Check-in 12th Jan
Check-out 18th Jan
Numbers of rooms Required: 4
Number of Guest: 4

Kindly advice the availability, the rates per night and the total cost for 4
guest for 6 nights.

Regarding payment: Payment shall me made in full upon confirmation of the
booking via credit card.

Additional Service: An Additional favour is required as the travel agent in
charge the flight ticket for this trip does not have the
facilities to charge credit card, so we are asking you to kindly add the
total amount of US$ 6,980 to the total cost of the booking which you will
charged on the credit card details that will be provided to you, when the
payment is confirmed in your account you will transfer the extra amount
charged(us$6,980.00) to the travel agent.

Compensation: A total amount of US$ 700 will also be added to the total cost
this will be for the transfer charges and your composition

Conclusion: The booking payment will be as follows.

Accommodation Fee (total cost of accommodation)     to be advised
Travel Agent Fee  US$ 6,980 (total amount you will transfer to the travel
agent as soon as payment is confirmed in your account)
Transfer commission US$ 700 (for bank charges and your effort for the
additional charges)
