Well, no matter what is going on in Bangkok, which varies depending on which channel you get your news from, business in Pattaya goes on as usual.
News from the 'front' suggests that the Soi 4 area of Sukhumvit in Bangkok is also 'normal' with bars doing good business as that area is outside the zone.
Highly likely that the embassies will be closed for some time to come e.g. UK, USA etc which are in the zone.
