Although the month got off to a slow start New Year's Eve turned out to be a very noisy affair in Soi LK Metro. As midnight approached the number of fireworks going off increased to a deafening level - and, fortunately, there seems to have been no injuries - something which continues to amaze me year in, year out.
Lots of friends called by and had a jar or two. Some stayed in the street until midnight while others went to Beach Road and some hotel roof-top bars to watch the bay area. Most won't be surprised to know that the New Year in UK/Ireland was also toasted seven hours later!
