As mentioned elsewhere on here and in various other publications e.g. The Pattaya Mail from today, 29 August 2008, this is a low season which many people will not forget in a hurry. TAT figures indicate a 30% reduction on last year for the first six months. To date, our year-on-year comparison here in the Metro Apartments is thankfully holding up. Given the general figues however, it isn't then surprising that an ever-increasing number of business owners are selling up.
As reported elsewhere, Ice - essentially a coyote bar on Soi LK Metro, is on the market. Another Soi LK Metro place on the market is the Blue Moon - a bar / guesthouse / laundry business. Allan has witnessed ever quieter low seasons over the last few years and doesn't see any light at the end of the tunnel. Sometimes, he says he's not sure but thinks he saw tumbleweed blowing along the street!!
As is always the case - several other businesses in the area are for sale at the right price. Low season is not for the faint-hearted!
