You couldn't make it up
One of the advantages of running a small business is that you do have enough time to browse around the Internet. Some of the stories you come across are pretty incredible but true - like these:
German police are looking for thieves who stole one and a half miles of the centre reservation of a motorway - an incredible 20 tonnes of metal! Put another way, they made off with 500 4-metre length strips running down the centre of the autobahn. Apparently no one saw them!
Further to the east, Estonian police stopped a car and discovered that the driver was drunk but even better than that - he was blind. His companion was, it seems, giving him directions!
A Rochdale man was seriously pissed off when the car he bought for his stepson, although parked in his drive was clamped because it was protruding a couple of inches. His solution - he got a disc cutter and cut it in half! He told the clampers they could take the offending half with them!
In Sydney, two armed robbers went into a bar but failed to notice about 50 bikers holding a meeting in a neighbouring room. Needless to say they tried to get away - even running through a glass door. They were, however, caught by the bikers and held until the police came!
Well I never!!!

Metro Apartments welcomes US Marines on R & R on 6th May 2008
On Tuesday 6th May, 2008 we had the pleasure of welcoming a group of US Marines on a spot of R n' R. After an exchange of a few emails and a brief meeting the day before, the buffet food was settled. All that remained was for the participants to arrive. As can be seen from this selection of photos, these guys enjoyed themselves really well.
I must say, in keeping with what we have always known, these blokes were exceptionally well behaved - even though lots of drinks were consumed.
More photos are below at the end of the article and under Gallery on our website http://www.metro-apartments-pattaya.com
It was a novelty for me to see 'beer pong' being played.
Needless to say it can lead to a lot of alcohol being consumed. We enjoyed very much having these visitors here and hope they will return and also pass the word on to their friends elsewhere in the US Fleets!!!

Reception for March 2008 St. Patrick's Day Golf Invitational Competitors
St. Patrick's Day, Monday, 17th March 2008, was the obvious date for the St. Patrick's Day Golf Invitational. The competition - Texas Scramble format - was held at Plutaluang Navy Course and was organised by Mr. Brendan Kelly and Mr Ciarán de Burca who wished all participants 'Céad Míle Failte'.
Thankfully the participants not only tucked into the food with enormous enthusiasm, I can also report that they showed their appreciation by consuming a reasonable quantity of liquids as well.
In keeping with the wishes of the organisers, the golf, the reception and the aftermath amounted to one big enjoyable day of fun for all concernedIn the latter part of the evening, there was an impromptu singing session as befits all good Irish parties! We're already looking forward to the next party!!
Some of the prize winners. Please forgive the semi decapitation but the photographer was under undue stress as a result of "Probably the best beer in the World"!!!!!!
